World War II Marine combat veteran and Veteran For Peace member Samuel Winstead, led a 360-mile “Ride for Peace” from Raleigh, NC, to D.C. I caught up with him in Washington. This picture was taken minutes after he finished the ride. He was 86. He did it again in 2013 and is finishing his ride for peace in May 2014. A 86 year old WWII veteran who completed a 360-mile bike ride deserves a favorite picture of the day, hands down.
