Listen to “Episode 2. Red Pill Radio Podcast
Reclaim Armistice Day and Talks About Immigration & Labor” on Spreaker.

In this 2nd episode of Red Pill Radio, will we talk about Nov 11, celebrated as Veterans Day in the U.S. and Armistice Day in much of the world. We will also hear from Merrie Najimy, president of the Massachusetts Teachers Association, and Alexandra Piñeros Shields the executive director of the Essex County Community Organization (ECCO).

I briefly talk about why I named the show Red Pill Radio and my refusal to cede the Red Pill to racists and misogynists. Read this article in Vulture about the Red Pill and how many takes on reality identify with its symbolism. But the Red Pill is only the beginning. People use different color pills for different ways to see reality.

Take what you will from the article’s references to second-century Christian Gnostic sect leader Valentinus. We’ll have to come back to him.

Reclaim Armistice Day

In this segment, I will talk with David Logsdon and Steve McKeown, two members of Veterans For Peace and veterans of the U.S. War in Vietnam who organize in Saint Paul/Minneapolis MN area about November 11, celebrated in the U.S. as Veterans Day.

On November 11, 1918, WWI ended with an armistice between battling nations. The end of the war exhilarated people around the world. The day was designated Armistice Day, a holiday to commemorate the end of the war and celebrate peace. But after WWII, the U.S. changed the day to Veterans Day. It is now a day of parades and praise for all things military with little if any talk of peace.

We will also talk about the Kellogg Briand Pact, an agreement between many nations around the globe – including the U.S., that outlawed war.
